Ukraine's government intends to attract $1 billion in investments for the modernization of the country's metallurgical industry in 2011-2012, Ukraine's minister of economic development and trade and acting first deputy prime minister Andriy Klyuyev has said.
"About $1 billion will be invested in 2011-2012 in the reconstruction of enterprises in the metallurgical industry," Mr. Klyuyev said, adding that this refers also to the modernization of such steelmaking plants as Zaporizhstal, Azovstal, and Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich).
