Ukraine’s ZZF to operate at 50 percent capacity in June

In April 2009 the Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant (ZZF) plans to increase its ferroalloys output to 10,600 mt, i.e. 23 percent of its full capacity. Meanwhile, in June the plant intends to operate at 50 percent of its production capacity.

During the current month, ZZF is to maintain operations at 10 of its 31 melting furnaces. In addition, on April 1 ZZF recommissioned its furnace No. 32 in workshop No. 4, while on April 8 it plans to halt operations at its workshop No. 1. 

According to the preliminary data, in January-March 2009 ZZF registered a 73.8 percent decrease year on year in its ferroalloys output to 33,000 mt. ZZF's deliveries to the Ukrainian domestic markets in general account for 30-35 percent of production, while the rest is exported to CIS, EU, Asian and African countries.
