According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), in January-April 2010 Ukraine increased its ferroalloys production by 2.82 times compared to the same period last year to 512,500 mt.
Accordingly, during the first four months of 2010, Ukraine's silicomanganese output increased by 2.66 times to 341,100 mt, its ferromanganese production went up by 4.33 times to 94,800 mt, its ferrosilicon output increased by 2.46 times to 70,600 mt, while its metallic manganese production went up by 93.5 percent to 6,000 mt, all compared to the same period of 2009.
Specifically, in January-April this year the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant increased its ferroalloy output by 2.76 times year on year to 312,600 mt, including 240,800 mt of silicomanganese and 71,800 mt of ferromanganese.
Meanwhile, during the period in question, Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant increased its ferroalloys output by 2.83 times year on year to 119,900 mt, including 71,800 mt of silicomanganese, 19,100 mt of ferrosilicon, 23,000 mt of ferromanganese, and 6,000 mt of metallic manganese.
In addition, another Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant increased its January-April ferroalloys output by 3.04 times year on year to 80,000 mt, including 51,500 mt of ferrosilicon and 28,500 mt of silicomanganese.
