Ukraine’s Dneprostal to be commissioned in March 2012

Ukrainian electric furnace steelmaking complex Dneprostal is scheduled to be put into operation in March 2012. At present, 66 percent of work has been finished, including 79 percent of construction work and 50 percent of installation work. 17,400 mt of equipment, i.e., about 70 percent, has been already delivered from Italy.
A cold test of the electric furnace steelmaking complex is scheduled for October 2011 and a hot test is scheduled for December.


Ukrainian pipe company Interpipe had signed a contract with Italian plantmaker Danieli for the construction of the electric furnace steelmaking complex Dneprostal in 2007. The capacity of the complex will be 1.32 million mt of billets per year. Investments in the project exceed $700 million.
