The United States and Ukraine have formally signed a bilateral agreement on market access issues as part of Ukraine's World Trade Organization accession negotiations. The agreement, made on March 1 and signed March 6, provides new market access opportunities for trade with the US, and among other tariff eliminations/reductions, reduces export duties on ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals. US Trade Representative Rob Portman said March 1 that as a result of this agreement, Ukraine and the United States will experience greater cooperation on economic issues.
