UK construction industry output down slightly in Q2

Construction industry output of the UK in the second quarter of this year fell by 1.4 percent compared to the same quarter of 2010, according to a report released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), as new house building in particular fell by 0.4 percent, and repair and maintenance work fell by 3.4 percent.

In Q2, the highest growth in the UK construction industry was recorded in the field of new infrastructure with 7.1 percent, while private industrial new work showed the largest fall of 13.4 percent. Meanwhile, public housing repair and maintenance showed a fall of 9.8 percent, all compared to the same quarter of 2010.
