Tuwairqi Steel Mills commissions first phase of DRI plant

Pakistan-based Tuwairqi Steel Mills has announced that it has commissioned the first phase of its new direct reduced iron (DRI) plant. Pakistan's first state-of-the-art DRI plant has an annual capacity of 1.28 million mt. The plant will initially produce cold direct reduced iron.
 
According to Tuwairqi's statement, the first phase of the plant has been completed with a total investment of $342 million.
