Turkish metal producers’ selling prices up 4.95 percent in June from May

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.01 percent over the previous month and was up 10.19 percent year on year.
 
In June, the highest month-on-month increase in the PPI for industrial activity in Turkey was 4.95 percent in the index for the basic metal industry. The PPI for the domestic basic metal industry was up 30.27 percent compared to June 2010.
 
On the other hand, in June this year the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, increased by 1.05 percent over the previous month and was up 6.47 percent year on year.
