Turkish HRC import volume up 2.8 percent in Jan-Apr

In April this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports increased by 18.6 percent year on year to 373,948 metric tons, up 28.2 percent compared to March, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $227.7 million, rising by 29.7 percent month on month and up 41.1 percent year on year.

In the January-April period of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 1.31 million mt, up 2.8 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 23 percent to $771.8 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 533,795 mt, down 36.5 percent year on year, followed by Ukraine which shipped 172,508 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
