Turkish construction industry turnover rises 10.5 percent in Q2

On September 20, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUİK) released the quarterly domestic construction sector indicators of the second quarter of 2011.

Accordingly, in the period in question, the quarterly production index in Turkey's domestic construction sector increased by 13.1 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, the production index in domestic building construction rose from 112.1 to 129.5, increasing by 15.5 percent, while the production index in civil engineering rose from 169.1 to 176.9, increasing by 4.6 percent, all compared to the second quarter of 2010.

Moreover, the quarterly turnover index in the domestic construction sector, with the base year 2005 = 100 and calculated according to the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community, Rev. 2 (NACE Rev.2), increased by 10.5 percent in the second quarter of 2011 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
