Turkey’s wire rod exports up 5.3 percent in January-February

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 4.7 percent year on year to 78,064 metric tons, up 8.3 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $26.17 million, up six percent month on month and falling 30 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.


 
In the January-February period of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 150,110 mt, rising by 5.3 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 30.4 percent to $50.9 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Egypt which received 50,102 metric tons. Egypt was followed by Israel with 29,640 metric tons and the US with 22,603 metric tons.
