Turkey’s steel import value falls 8.5 percent in April from March level

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in the first four months of this year Turkey's iron and steel import value came to $6.3 billion, up 33.9 percent, while its imports of articles of iron and steel moved up by 48.7 percent to $819,104 million, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
Meanwhile, in April this year, Turkey's iron and steel imports hit $1.5 billion, rising by 14.3 percent year on year but decreasing by 8.5 percent month on month.
