In September, rebar exports accounted for 42.69 percent of the country's total steel product exports, while billet exports constituted 12.35 percent, exports of steel section made up 9.05 percent, exports of flat steel constituted 9.22 percent, steel pipe and fitting part exports accounted for 10.55 percent and wire rod exports accounted for 8.51 percent.
On the other hand, in the first nine months of the year, the country's total steel product exports reached 13.54 million metric tons, while the revenue generated by these exports amounted to $11.5 billion, increasing by 6.2 percent and 29.24 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
In the January-September period, Turkey's steel product exports to the UAE, its largest market for steel exports, amounted to 1.29 million metric tons, down 17.93 percent year on year, with a value of $863 million, 0.24 percent lower than in January-September 2010. Exports to Italy, amounted to 1.08 million metric tons, increasing by 275.56 percent year on year, totaling a value of $824 million, up 304 percent year on year. Turkey's steel product exports to Iraq during the period came to 1.03 million metric tons, up 24.6 percent year on year, with a value of $903 million - up 44.93 percent year on year.
