According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in October this year Turkey's iron and steel exports totaled $966.45 million in value, increasing by 18.4 percent year on year and up 47.44 percent over September, while exports of articles of iron or steel rose by 8.7 percent compared to October 2009 and were up 24.39 percent month on month at $471.77 million.
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of 2010, the country's iron and steel exports stood at $7.16 billion, while its exports of articles of iron or steel amounted to $3.95 billion, increasing by 10.6 percent and up 6.7 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
