According to the data provided by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in August this year Turkey's total steel billet exports amounted to 248,071 metric tons, increasing by 17.18 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $124.1 million, improving by 44.26 percent compared to August 2009.
In August, the average export price of Turkish steel billet amounted to $500.26/mt, increasing by $94/mt or 23.11 percent from August 2009 levels.

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of 2010, Turkey's steel billet exports surged by 77.02 percent, reaching 2.25 million metric tons, while the revenue for these exports stood at $1.17 billion, climbing by 130 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
