Turkey’s scrap imports down 6.25 percent in November over October

According to the customs statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2009 Turkey imported 1.2 million metric tons of ferrous scrap, decreasing its imports of the material in question by 6.25 percent compared to October.

In November, Turkey's main ferrous scrap source was Europe, with imports of 707,258 metric tons - up 10.88 percent, followed by the US with 280,640 metric tons - up 24.12 percent, and the CIS with 153,800 mt - down 54.41 percent, all compared to the previous month.
