Turkey’s rebar exports increase 1.4 percent in January-August

In August this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 474,604 metric tons, down four percent compared to July and decreasing by 7.7 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $217.06 million, decreasing by 6.1 percent compared to July and down 23.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-August period of this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 3.66 million metric tons, up 1.4 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $1.73 billion, falling by 13.8 percent compared to same period of 2018.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Yemen which received 596,690 metric tons, up 0.23 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by Israel with 546,102 metric tons and Singapore with 389,345 metric tons.
