Turkey’s rebar exports down 21.7 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 409,526 metric tons, up 63.7 percent compared to September and falling by 20.2 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $211.9 million, increasing by 8.74 percent compared to October 2016 and up 72 percent month on month.

In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's rebar export volume amounted to 4.44 million mt, falling by 21.7 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 8.3 percent to $1.95 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 600,227 metric tons, down 44.22 percent year on year. The US was followed by Israel with 594,976 metric tons and Yemen with 498,390 metric tons.
