In April this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 429,660 metric tons, down 20.5 percent compared to March and decreasing by 4.3 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $245.55 million, decreasing by 24.9 percent compared to April 2017 and down 18.9 percent month on month.
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 1.97 million mt, down 13.2 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 13.7 percent to $1.09 billion, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Yemen which received 299,132 metric tons, up 4.12 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by Israel with 237,142 metric tons and the US with 201,667 metric tons.
