According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 3,938 mt, decreasing by 16.8 percent compared to the previous month and down 28.5 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $3.3 million, down 10.8 percent month on month and falling 36.5 percent compared to the same month of 2015.
During the first two months of the current year, Turkey’s PPGI exports decreased by 43.3 percent to 8,669 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $7.02 million, down 50 percent, both year on year.
Libya was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the January-February period, with imports of 1,229 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Libya was followed by Bulgaria and Jordan, with Bulgaria's PPGI imports from Turkey amounting to 938 mt, while Jordan received 669 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period.
