Turkey’s HRC exports up 16.5 percent in January-May

In May this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 39.4 percent year on year to 56,096 metric tons, down 62.7 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $19.2 million, falling by 59.5 percent month on month and down 53.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first five months this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 625,333 mt, up 16.5 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 21.8 percent to $196.5 million, both compared to the same period of 2015.
 
In the first five months of the current year, Egypt ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 118,377 mt, followed by Italy which received 96,527 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
