In October this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 47.5 percent year on year to 171,831 metric tons, up 16.8 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $64 million, rising by 10.3 percent month on month and down 9.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first ten months of the current year, Turkish hot rolled coil exports amounted to 1.23 million mt, up 14.85 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 14.2 percent to $536.7 million, both year on year.
In the January-October period, US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, reducing its HRC imports from Turkey by 19.26 percent year on year to 259,759 mt, followed by Italy which received 245,320 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
