Turkey’s HRC exports rise 7.1 percent in H1

In June this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 35.7 percent to 173,876 metric tons, compared to May and were down 53 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $92.13 million, decreasing by 36.9 percent month on month, while declining by 61 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. 

In the first half of this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 1.71 million mt, up 7.1 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 8.7 percent to $907.05 million, both compared to the same period of 2018.
 
In the first half of the current year, Italy ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 623,712 mt, down 7.06 percent, followed by Spain which received 299,857 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period, down 21.43 percent year on year.
