In July this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 40.7 percent to 242,636 metric tons, compared to June and were down 38.8 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $123.54 million, increasing by 35.1 percent month on month, while declining by 49.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first seven months of this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 1.95 million mt, down 2.1 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 16.9 percent to $1.03 billion, both compared to the same period of 2018.
In the first seven months of the current year, Italy ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 674,860 mt, down 16.52 percent, followed by Spain which received 327,926 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period, down 23.09 percent year on year.
