Turkey’s HRC exports decline by 22.5 percent in January-March

In March this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 10.6 percent year on year to 127,159 metric tons, while increasing 137.8 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $56.5 million, declining by 32 percent year on year and up 98.9 percent compared to February.


 
In the first three months of the current year, Turkish hot rolled coil exports amounted to 262,872 mt, down 22.5 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 34 percent to $130.7 million, both year on year.
 
In the January-March period, the US ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, increasing its HRC imports from Turkey by 192 percent year on year to 98,397 mt, while the US was followed by Italy which received 41,346 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
