Turkey increases steel billet exports in January

According to the data provided by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), in January this year Turkey's total steel billet exports amounted to 269,902 metric tons, increasing by 113 percent year on year and up 6.1 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, in January the revenue generated by Turkey's steel billet exports totaled $170 million, increasing 123.5 percent compared to January 2011 and up 4.8 percent month on month.

In January this year, Turkey's steel billet exports to Saudi Arabia were up sixfold compared to a year ago, while its steel billet exports to the UAE decreased by 83.5 percent compared to January 2011.
