One of Russia's largest pipe producers TMK Group has ordered new equipment from SMS Demag to upgrade one of the continuous billet casters of its subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant (VTZ).
Under the agreement concluded between the two companies, SMS Demag will supply VTZ with the equipment for its continuous billet caster No.3. The new equipment is aimed at helping to increase caster No.3's annual capacity to 750,000 metric tons of high quality billets, which are used in the production of high-tech seamless pipes.
