TMK-Artrom, Romania-based subsidiary of Russian steel producer TMK Group, has announced the commissioning of its new cogging mill, which completes the vertical integration of TMK's production complex in Romania.

The new cogging mill will enable TMK-Artrom to reduce the cost of finished steel by eliminating energy costs for billet re-rolling and by improving production yields. From now on, all seamless pipes produced at TMK-Artrom will be manufactured from billets produced at TMK's other Romania-based subsidiary, TMK-Resita.

In addition, the new cogging mill will also improve the quality of TMK-Artrom's pipes by enhancing their paste forming properties.
