TISCO’s metcoke project to cost Rp 6.9 billion

Indian steel producer Tata Iron and Steel Corp's (TISCO) Haldia metallurgical coke project, which is to be implemented in cooperation with West Bengal Industries Development Corporation, is expected to cost around Rupees 6.9 billion ($151.7 million). The planned metallurgical coke plant in Haldia will have an annual production capacity of 800'000 tons and the plant will be completed in 18 months. The plant will meet metallurgical coke requirement of TISCO. The company also plans to increase hot rolled capacity of Jamshedpur by 2.4 million tons. SteelOrbis reported this week that TISCO and Larsen & Toubro signed an agreement to participate in Dhamra Port projects in Orissa.
