TISCO, Ispat join global steel consortium

Indian steel producers Tata Iron and Steel Corp (TISCO) and Ispat Industries signed on to a global steel consortium project aimed at increasing the use of steel in the construction sector. The €14 million project will encourage companies in the construction sector to increase the use of steel by 10% over the next five years. The International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI) and its 11 member companies all lent their support to the project. In addition to TISCO and Ispat Industries, the companies participating in the project are Arcelor, BlueScope Steel, CELSA, Corus, Mittal Steel, POSCO, Erdemir, IMIDRO and Ruukki.
