Family-owned steel processor Timberline Steel Inc. has been sold to Birmingham, Alabama-based steel fabricator O'Neal Steel. The acquisition of the Denver, Colorado-based steel service center will expand O'Neal's product and processing capabilities and extend its geographical coverage, according to a press release issued by Green Manning & Bunch Ltd, which advised Timberline on the sale. A letter from Timberline Steel president and CEO Dan McCallin told customers that other than the change in ownership, little is expected to change at the company. "Although our ownership has changed, many things have not. We will continue to do business as Timberline Steel. I will remain as president and CEO, and my management team will remain in place. Your sales and customer service contacts will not change," McCallin wrote. Timberline Steel is a full line steel service center with four steel processing facilities in the Rocky Mountain region. O'Neal is a $2 billion steel fabricating business with over 60 locations and 3'500 employees.
