ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel to raise NGO prices

ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel, a part of the German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp Group, announced that they will increase prices of non-grain oriented (NGO) electrical steel by €50 per ton. The price increase which is due to offset hikes in feedstock prices, will be effective from January 1, 2004. Besides, due to non-profitability an annual 135'000 tons of NGO electrical steel was discontinued at Terni plant in Italy by the beginning of this month and production of the subject material is now concentrated at Bochum plant in Germany.
