Talvivara narrows down loss in Q1

Finland-based nickel and zinc miner Talvivaara Mining Company Plc has announced its financial results for the first quarter this year, registering a net loss of €17.1 million, narrowing down from €23.9 million in the same quarter of 2013. The company's sales revenues amounted to €29 million, increasing by 5.07 percent year on year. During the first quarter, Talvivaara produced 3,068 mt of nickel.
 
Talvivaara's operational outlook in 2014 remains subject to success in completion, timing and extent of the financing transactions that are currently being negotiated. The company said that, in the absence of a comprehensive financing solution and related operational plan for the time being, it is not in a position to give guidance on its production or its operational and capital expenditure for the current year.
