Taiyuan Steel to start work on cold rolled silicon steel project

On November 25, Shanxi Province-based Chinese steel producer Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group (Taiyuan Steel) signed an agreement for the start of construction on its new cold rolled silicon steel project.
 
According to Gao Xiangming, general manager of Taiyuan Steel, the project in question is one of the principal industrial restructuring projects in Shanxi Province. Since 2007, the company has been developing high grade cold rolled silicon steel products, ranking first in terms of its market shares in China. In the first 10 months of 2010, Taiyuan Steel sold a total of 130,000 mt of high grade cold rolled silicon steel.
