Taiwan may lift AD duties on certain steel products

According to recent news in the market, Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has asked Ministry of Finance (MOF) to lift anti-dumping duties on certain products imported from three countries as the imports of subject products do not cause material injury for Taiwanese steel industry. The subject product exposed to anti-dumping duty is steel H-beam girders imported from Poland, Russia and South Korea. The anti-dumping duty on subject merchandise was imposed on December 14, 1998 as it was found out that the imported product is sold in Taiwan fairly lower than the price in domestic market. Five-year review was initiated for the case. This review ended in December 2003 and extended upon the petition filed by domestic producer Tung Ho Steel however MOEA determined that imports of subject merchandise do not cause material injury to domestic market any more. MOEA informed MOF about its decision Now MOF will reveal its final decision about the subject within 10 days.
