Taiwan decides to take US S201 sanctions to the WTO

Taiwan has now added to the list of countries taking their complaints against the US S201 sanctions to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Taiwan's claim is also based on the argument that the US violated certain GATT rules such as missing proof of harm in the domestic steel industry, increase in steel imports prior to the implementation of these safeguard measures. Previously panel requests were made by the EU, South Korea, Japan, China, Brazil, Switzerland, New Zealand and Norway.
