Taiwan-China trade up 18.9%

Taiwan's Board of Foreign Trade disclosed that bilateral trade between Taiwan and China rose 18.9% year on year to $21.8 billion in the first four months of 2005. The figure accounted for 18.7% of Taiwan's total foreign trade compared to 17.5% a year earlier. In the first four months, Taiwan's trade surplus with China reached $9.54 billion, up 7% year on year. Taiwan's exports to China rose 26.8% during the first four months to $15.7 billion while imports from China increased 30.2% to $6.13 billion.
