Strong May for Chinese crude steel production

The latest statistics show that China's crude steel production increased 37.5% year on year to 29.73 million tons in May 2005. Total crude steel output of the country for the first five months of the year reached 136.15 million tons, an increase of 27.4% year on year. In addition, China's finished steel production set a record in May. Finished steel output soared 35.5% year on year to reach 31.11 million tons.
