Strong fall in Turkey’s industrial output index in October

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's monthly industrial production index decreased by 5.7 percent year on year, recording the strongest fall since September 2009, while the seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index decreased by 2.6 percent compared to the previous month.

On the other hand, in Turkey the production index of the manufacturing industry in October decreased 5.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In October, the production index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey remained unchanged year on year and was down 2.2 percent from September, while the output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products fell by 5.8 percent year on year and was down by 5.5 percent compared to the previous month.
