Stomana to increase capacity in Bulgaria

Pernik, Bulgaria based steelmaker Stomana Industry is planning to increase its share in Bulgarian steel market to 60 percent from the current 40s. For this purpose, the company plans to commission a new production line by the end of 2007. The new production line will add 500'000 metric tons to the steel maker's annual capacity. Stomana, currently produces 800'000 metric tons of raw steel and 300'000 metric tons of sheet products per annum. Stomana is owned by Greek Viohalco group and it is one of the largest three steelmakers in Bulgaria.
