Stelco’s bankruptcy protection extended

According to the statement released by Canadian steel producer Stelco Inc, Ontario Superior Court of Justice has extended bankruptcy protection of the company till February 11, 2005. In line with the previous schedule, the bankruptcy protection would expire on November 26, 2004, i.e today. However, the bankruptcy protection program has been extended till February 11, 2005. This will provide Stelco to continue the talks with its stakeholders as a part of restructuring process.
