Stelco get one more day of bankruptcy protection

Ontario Superior Court Justice James Farley, the judge presiding over the Stelco restructuring adventure has extended the company's court protection by one more day. Commenting on the decision, Judge Farley had harsh words for the lawyers representing Stelco's investors: "I would think stakeholders having a financial interest in this matter should refrain from playing chicken. They should do what is right rather than completely self-serving". The judge issued the decree after Stelco's stakeholders threatened to push the company into receivership if protection was not extended on Monday.
