Steel Dynamics launches new paint facility in Columbus

Steel Dynamics, Inc. new paint facility in Columbus, Mississippi officially opened today after breaking ground in January 2016. The facility, which involved an approximately $100 million investment, has an annual coating capacity of 250,000 tons and created 40 new jobs.
 
The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance for infrastructure improvements, rail construction and workforce training. The Tennessee Valley Authority, Appalachian Regional Commission and the Lowndes County Board of Supervisors also provided assistance for the project.
