Steel billet output in Ukraine may rise by 7-9 percent in 2011

According to Ukrainian state-run company Derzhzovnishinform, in 2011 Ukrainian metallurgical companies will increase production of steel billets by 7-8.7 percent compared to 2010 to 12.6-12.8 million mt.


In 2011 imports of semi-finished steel products are expected to rise by 7-18 percent compared to 2010 to 0.5-0.55 million mt, worth $335-350 million.


In 2010 Ukraine produced 11.77 million mt of semi-finished steel products and imported 0.466 million mt of material, worth a total of $283.6 million.
