Indian steelmaker Steel Strips Wheels Limited (SSWL) achieved sales of 750,685 wheel rims in March this year as against 583,487 wheel rims in March 2009, posting an increase of 28.6 percent. In addition, the company produced 730,295 wheel rims in March 2010 in comparison with 604,017 in March last year, recording a growth of 20.90 percent.
The company achieved export sales of 60,350 wheel rims in March this year, as against 8,154 wheel rims during the same month of the previous year, increasing by 640 percent.
During the quarter ended March 31, 2010, total export sales of steel wheel rims were 151,000, against export sales of 19,000 wheel rims in the quarter ended March 31, 2009, recording a growth of 694 percent.
