SSWL’s steel wheel rim sales down 18.2 percent in December

The Indian steel rim producer Steel Strips Wheels Ltd (SSWL) has announced that it registered gross sales of INR 757 million ($13.9 million) in December 2012, down 25 percent compared to the corresponding month of 2011.
 
In terms of units sold, in December SSWL sold 765,000 steel wheel rims, decreasing by 18.2 percent compared to 935,000 wheel rims sold in the same month of 2011, while the company's wheel rim exports increased to 88,746, down 13 percent year on year.
 
SSWL expects steel wheel rim sales of 830,000 in January 2013.
