South Korea’s Samkang wins pipe contract from Daewoo

South Korean thick steel pipe manufacturer Samkang M&T Co., Ltd. announced that it has recently won a contract worth KRW 4.3 billion ($4 million) from South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd (DSME).

Pipes produced by Samkang will be used in fixed offshore platform located in Angola built for Chevron Corporation.. The platform is scheduled to come on stream in the fourth quarter of 2013, while the project is due November, 2011
