On June 26, Chinese steelmaker Shougang Jingtang Co. Ltd began production operations at its blast furnace No. 2 in Caofeidian, Hebei Province, marking the completion of phase 1 of the producer's project for its relocation to Caofeidian.

The steelmaker's blast furnace No. 2 has a volume of 5,500 cubic meters, just like its blast furnace No. 1. Company sources say that the BF No. 2 uses 68 separate innovative technologies, is environmentally friendly and will help save energy. Since the No. 1 furnace started production operations on May 21 last year, its utilization rate and coal injection rate have reached advanced levels.
