Shougang Jingtang begins 2nd 5500 m3 BF construction

Shougang Jingtang Iron & Steel United Co. Ltd has officially commenced the construction of its second 5,500 m3 blast furnace.

As part of its Phase 1 Plant, Shougang Jingtang will have two 5,500 m3 blast furnaces, which will be the largest of their kind in China. The construction of the No. 1 blast furnace had started earlier in the current year.

Shougang Jingtang is a joint venture between Shougang Iron & Steel and Tangshan Iron & Steel, both of which are among China's largest steelmakers. Within the scope of this joint venture, a new iron and steel plant is being built on Caofeidian Island in the northeastern Chinese province of Hebei.
