Chinese steel producer Shijiazhuang Iron and Steel Co. (Shigang), a subsidiary of Hebei Steel Group, has stated that in the first quarter of the current year its direct product sales - as opposed to sales via distributors - accounted for 78.3 percent of its total sales volume, up 3.1 percentage points as compared to 2011.

Shigang said that it has achieved a higher share of direct product sales amid its policy of focusing on the market for high-end products.
